How commercial battery storage works with EQORE

One team, from your first bill review to a battery that runs itself. Your operations stay the same.

One battery, several ways to earn

QoreAI plans every stream together, so the same stored energy cuts your demand charge, answers program events and shifts energy without one undercutting another. Which streams apply depends on your utility, tariff and location.

    Peak day, July 2026

Real meter data from ThermoFusion: on its peak day the building reached 433.7 kW while the grid saw 299.6 kW.

    Event day, July 16

Real meter data from Aalberts Surface Technologies: across the 5–8 PM event the battery delivered 141 kWh while the plant kept running.

    One summer day

Illustrative example, not a real facility. The battery charges overnight and discharges through the 4–8 PM summer Clean Peak window, delivering 1 MWh. At the summer multiplier that earns 4 Clean Peak certificates for the day.

    Clean Peak Standard

Earn certificates for every MWh delivered in the seasonal peak window.

    Summer weekdays

Illustrative example, not a real facility. The forecast flags the likeliest peak days and the battery discharges through the grid's peak hour on those days only. In the one hour that sets the monthly charge, the facility's load falls from 513 kW to 263 kW.

    Coincident peak

Cut transmission charges set by your load in the grid’s monthly peak hour.

513 → 263 kW at the monthly peak hour

    12 monthly peaks

Illustrative example, not a real facility. Each bar is the facility's load in the region's peak hour of a month. The battery covers the likeliest summer peaks, so the load in the annual peak hour, which sets next year's capacity tag, falls from 509 kW to 259 kW.

    Capacity tags

Shrink the tag, set in the region’s annual peak hour, that prices next year’s capacity.

509 → 259 kW capacity tag for next year

  • 06
    One weekday

Illustrative example, not a real facility or tariff. The battery charges 750 kWh off-peak overnight, then discharges through a 4–9 PM on-peak window, so 750 kWh the plant would have bought at on-peak prices comes from the battery instead.

    Time-of-use shifting

Charge when energy is cheap, use it when it is expensive.

750 kWh moved out of on-peak hours

    Power factor, one day

Illustrative example, not a real facility or tariff. Motors on the day shift pull the plant's power factor down to 84%. The battery inverter supplies reactive power, so the meter never sees less than 98%. Penalty thresholds vary by tariff.

    Power factor correction

Supply reactive power from the inverter to avoid low power factor penalties.

84% → 98% lowest power factor of the day

Your plant runs exactly as it does today

The battery works around your operation, not the other way round.

Installed in parallel
The system connects alongside your facility's electrical infrastructure, independent of your equipment and processes.
Runs in the background
QoreAI decides when to charge and discharge on its own. Nobody on your team has to schedule, dispatch or watch it.
Same energy, lower bill
You use the same total energy at the same times. The battery changes what the utility meter sees, not what your plant does.

Six steps to a live system

EQORE runs every step. Typically live in 3–6 months. Most of that is permitting and utility review; the work on site takes days.

Your team's part: a recent bill to start, access for a site visit, and a walkthrough of the monitoring dashboard at handoff.

  1. Savings assessment

Send us a recent electricity bill and your interval data. We model your facility with a full year of interval data priced through your actual tariff, and come back with system options, projected savings and payback.

How to get your bills and interval data

    • Free, with no obligation
    • Both ownership options side by side: purchase and shared savings
  2. Proposal

Once you pick a system size, we confirm the equipment location, the electrical tie-in and fire-department access, then send a detailed proposal.

    • Value streams, system design and project plan in one document
    • Commercial terms for the option you choose
  3. Design and permitting

EQORE prepares the plan set and stamped engineering, designs the installation to NFPA 855 and the local fire code, and takes it through the building department and the fire marshal.

    • Electrical, structural and fire engineering
    • Building, electrical and fire permits
  4. Utility interconnection

We file and manage the interconnection application with your utility. This is usually the longest step, because the utility sets the pace of its review.

    • EQORE answers the utility’s technical questions
    • The system stays off until the utility grants permission to operate
  5. Installation and commissioning

The work on site takes days, not months: the pad, the equipment and the electrical tie-in, planned around your shifts. After inspections and utility approval, we commission the system and hand over live monitoring.

    • The final tie-in may need one short, scheduled shutdown
    • A calibration period tunes QoreAI to your real load before savings reporting starts
  6. Operate and optimize

QoreAI runs the system around the clock. EQORE enrolls you in utility programs such as ConnectedSolutions, dispatches the battery for every event, manages program revenue and maintains the equipment.

    • Live performance and monthly savings reports
    • New value streams added as they become available

Questions buyers ask us

How does commercial battery storage cut our electricity bill?

Most commercial and industrial rates charge for the highest demand your facility sets in the month. The battery charges when demand is low and discharges during your peaks, so the utility meter records a lower peak and the demand charge drops. The same battery can also earn revenue from utility programs such as ConnectedSolutions.

Can we get a battery with no upfront cost?

Yes. With shared savings you pay nothing: EQORE covers design, permitting, installation, operation and maintenance, owns the system, and shares the savings with you.

How long until the system is running?

Typically live in 3–6 months. Most of that time is design, permitting and utility interconnection, which EQORE handles for you. The work on site takes days.

Will the installation disrupt our operations?

No. The system is installed in parallel to your electrical infrastructure and the work is planned around your operations. The final electrical tie-in may need one short, scheduled shutdown, and after that the system runs in the background.

What do you need from us to get started?

A recent electricity bill is enough to start. For the full assessment we work from 12 months of bills and 15-minute interval data, and we help you get that data from your utility. The best fits are facilities spending $10K+ a month on electricity in New England and California.

How to get your interval data

Who operates and maintains the system?

EQORE does, in both ownership models. QoreAI runs the system 24/7, EQORE handles maintenance and coordinates the equipment warranties, and you follow performance on a live dashboard.
