A signed contract only matters once the battery is running and saving the customer money. Between the two sit permits, utility interconnection, long-lead equipment, subcontractors, and a facility that can’t stop production while we work. This role exists to own all of that, so every system lands on time and on budget, and so our installs keep pace with sales.
You are EQORE’s first dedicated delivery hire. Your first projects go in this March.
What you’ll do
- Act as EQORE’s owner’s representative on several concurrent C&I battery installs, from contract to commissioning and handoff.
- Build and hold project schedules, budgets, and procurement timelines; review change orders and track variance.
- Manage permitting, AHJ and fire-department reviews, and utility interconnection applications.
- Coordinate electricians, EPC partners, riggers, and equipment vendors on site.
- Verify every installation in the field: confirm the build matches the approved design, check terminations, conductor sizing, grounding, CT and metering orientation, and protection settings, and sign off before energization.
- Lead functional testing and commissioning with our controls and fleet engineers, and confirm the system performs as designed before program enrollment and handoff.
- Be the customer’s single point of contact during construction and keep their facility running around the work.
- Turn every project into checklists, templates, and tools so the next one goes faster.
What you’ll bring
- An electrical or industrial electrical background: licensed electrician, electrical field engineer, or electrical engineer with significant hands-on field time.
- 4+ years on electrical, solar, storage, or industrial construction projects, with experience leading them.
- Hands-on knowledge of 480V three-phase C&I service, switchgear, and complex retrofits into operating facilities.
- Working knowledge of interconnection, permitting, and the codes that govern energy storage (NEC 705 and 706, NFPA 855, UL 9540).
- The ability to read and redline single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, and site plans, and catch problems before they reach the field.
- Comfort on job sites and with subcontractors, and the organization to track many parallel threads.
- Clear writing for customers, utilities, and inspectors.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Massachusetts and the Northeast.
Nice to have
CAD experience (AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical) for site plans, single-lines, and equipment layouts; regular use of LLMs like Claude or ChatGPT to draft documents, review specs, or build simple workflows; battery, solar, or EV-charger installs; Eversource or National Grid interconnection; a Massachusetts electrical license.
Why EQORE
The future of energy is distributed. Commercial and industrial customers consume more than 65% of America’s electricity, yet less than 1% of recent battery deployments have gone to C&I sites. We are building the engine that closes that gap: not just the software that manages batteries, but the machine that sells, finances, and deploys them across the United States. Our goal is to become the largest deployer and manager of C&I energy resources in the world.
Deployment speed caps how fast we can grow. You own it, and the playbook you write is how we will install hundreds of sites.
