Energy Markets & Pricing Engineer
Own every price we put in front of a customer, from raw interval data and tariffs to a system size and savings estimate we can stand behind.
About the role
Every EQORE deal comes down to a few numbers: how big a system to install, what it will save, and what we can offer under purchase or shared savings. This role exists to own pricing completely and scale it with our sales team, so every quote goes out fast, consistent, and backed by data from our live sites.
It’s a builder-analyst job. You will dig into tariffs and program rules, and you will ship production Python into the pricing tool and billing engine.
What you’ll do
- Own customer-site pricing end to end: interval-data cleaning, sizing, savings estimates, and the numbers behind every proposal.
- Work with our account executives on live deals and defend the numbers in front of customers.
- Maintain our tariff and program library across utilities in Massachusetts, the Northeast, and California.
- Model demand-charge savings, ConnectedSolutions, Clean Peak, ICAP, demand response, and arbitrage.
- Compare modeled and realized savings at live sites, then fix the models and assumptions.
- Evaluate new markets across ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, and CAISO, and write up which ones to enter next.
- Ship tested backend code into the pricing tool and billing engine.
What you’ll bring
- Experience building storage, DER, electricity-market, or utility-rate models.
- Strong Python, pandas, and SQL, and the ability to ship production code, not only notebooks.
- The ability to turn tariff sheets and market rules into working models.
- First-principles thinking, sound commercial judgment, and the confidence to stand behind a number.
- Clear writing and charts that make a complicated rate structure easy to follow.
Nice to have
ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, or CAISO; LP/MILP optimization; solar or storage development; settlement reconciliation; or lightweight frontend work.
Why EQORE
The future of energy is distributed. Commercial and industrial customers consume more than 65% of America’s electricity, yet less than 1% of recent battery deployments have gone to C&I sites. We are building the engine that closes that gap: not just the software that manages batteries, but the machine that sells, finances, and deploys them across the United States. Our goal is to become the largest deployer and manager of C&I energy resources in the world.
Every system we sell starts with your model. You decide which markets we enter and how confidently we enter them.
